Client Case Study: Building an Effective Training Program for Critical Accounting Teams

This client approached Springboard in the summer of 2007 to assist the organization in developing a new training program for the accounting teams in athletic offices on college campuses.  First, we worked with a committee of 20 member volunteers who represented the stakeholders on campus – college presidents, athletic directors, and athletics business officers – in a facilitated design process to identify the program goals, the target audience, and the needed skills/knowledge/abilities that should be included in the training program.  Following that process, we created the high level framework for the new training program.  Finally, we created all the training materials for the new program: the Facilitator Guide, the Participant Guide, and the supplemental presentation slides and handouts.  The Springboard team also co-facilitated the first workshop and trained the internal facilitators.
